Forty Niner Days was humanely euthanized due to cancer at our Tehachapi ranch on August 18th, 2008. Forty Niner Days raced 45 times with a lifetime earnings of $1,009,625.00. Niner was always a fan favorite during his racing career, as well as at our ranch in Tehachapi. He was donated to UPF on 5/24/95. He will be sadly missed. Founded in 1994 the UPF has grown to become one of the nation's largest Thoroughbred retirement organization that includes two well-equipped farms with a carrying capacity of more than 100 horses.

Bred and trained to race, most of our retired horses were professional racehorses. But once their racing career was over, if they were not suitable for breeding, their future was uncertain. Most of our retirees were donated and several were actually picked up at the feedlots on their way to slaughter. Help these horses live their lives out respectfully; begin giving the 'thank you' their hard work as racers deserves. PLEASE help us give these horses the retirement they deserve! And remember, it is tax deductible!
